Come home to yourself
Relational, depth oriented therapy to help heal the places and parts of yourself that have been isolated, ostracized, or that are making it difficult to live into your fullness.
“The time will come when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror, and each will smile at the other’s welcome and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart to itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life, whom you have ignored”
Derek Walcott, excerpt from Collected Poems, 1948-1948My Approach
I believe we humans all have inherent goodness, beauty, and resiliency to us. Unfortunately life leaves none of us unscathed whether it be from harmful systems, family of origin wounds, life circumstances, toxic relationships, traumatic events, or even our own self sabotaging behaviors. Regardless of how it happens, we can find ourselves feeling stuck or in pieces. While there are many wonderful healing practices out there, I believe that psychotherapy is a great way to start understanding how we got to where we are and to begin to grow in new directions with the hope of becoming more embodied and living a more vibrant, grounded, and creative life. I love working with folks who have CPTSD, attachment wounds or trauma, religious trauma, anxiety, depression, shame, and/or who are navigating grief.
Rooted in the knowledge that healing happens in relationship and that our past informs our present, I primarily have a relational psychodynamic approach to therapy. I also have training in AEDP, IFS, and somatics for the female nervous system which can bring an experiential, embodied, and emotionally focused feel to what might usually be an analytical space. My work is deeply trauma informed and attachment focused. Ultimately we will find what works best for you, because this is for you. Additionally I am able to provide ketamine assisted psychotherapy (KAP) and offer integration support after your own therapeutic work with other psychedelics. My training is primarily in relational, emotional, and somatic focused KAP and utilizes a psycholytic dose of ketamine (a low dose) where the therapeutic relationship is the primary medicine. But we can discuss options and tailor the experience to match what you need in your journey.
Beginning therapy can feel daunting, even if you've been in therapy before. It is good work but it is also hard work and I want to honor the energy and effort it takes to begin this kind of endeavor. I hope to bring an empathetic presence into this space on your sacred journey. I am grateful to be a therapist and feel deeply privileged to be invited into your story.
